New Orleans car service and group transportation
In New Orleans, vehicle size decides which streets you can use. The French Quarter and Garden District both restrict buses. Tell us the addresses first; we book a licensed partner operator with a vehicle that is allowed there.
MSY arrivals: a 15-mile airport car service
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International is about 15 miles from downtown. Hotels sit in the French Quarter, the CBD, the Warehouse District and the Garden District, and those zones have different vehicle rules. That is why the hotel address matters more than the flight time here.
Send flight numbers and exact addresses for each passenger. A sedan or SUV black car reaches any hotel door; a coach may not. Plan the coach stop first, then the walk.

French Quarter hotels: vehicle length comes first
Buses under 31 feet must stick to signed bus routes in the French Quarter. Buses 31 feet or longer need a Public Works oversize load permit in advance. Loading is limited to 15 minutes, with no idling over 10.
So specify: hotel address, headcount, bags. For a small group, a Sprinter van is often simpler than a permitted coach; confirm vehicle length on the quote. For a large group, allow time for the permit and keep loading tight.

Garden District and Uptown: small vehicles only
The Garden District bans buses over 20 seats, with limited permitted exceptions. A minibus of 16 to 19 seats stays under it. For Garden District tours or dinners, book a minibus or Sprinter vans of up to 19 passengers, or split the group across vehicles.
Convention Center, Superdome and Carnival season
The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is on the riverfront in the Warehouse District; Convention Center Lot J is a designated motorcoach lot. A corporate shuttle from CBD and French Quarter hotels runs short loops.
The Caesars Superdome and Smoothie King Center sit side by side. During Carnival, parade routes change everything; see the Mardi Gras page. River Road day trips to Oak Alley and Whitney Plantation run 1 to 1.5 hours each way.
Questions
Can a motorcoach pick up at a French Quarter hotel?
Only with planning. Buses 31 feet or longer need an oversize load permit in advance; shorter buses must use signed routes. Loading is capped at 15 minutes.
Can we take a minibus through the Garden District?
Not one over 20 seats, except with a limited permit. Sprinter vans are the practical choice.
Where do coaches park during a Convention Center event?
Designated motorcoach lots, including Convention Center Lot J.
