LAX airport car service and group pickups

LAX splits arrivals three ways: booked cars and coaches on the outer curb islands, taxis and rideshare at LAX-it, and a shuttle between them. Brief the one you booked.

Where a pre-arranged LAX car service meets you

Lower (Arrivals) level, outer curb islands, outside baggage claim. The same instruction covers Terminals 1 to 8 and the Tom Bradley International Terminal (Terminal B). Tell the traveler the terminal and "outer island". If the car is not in sight, stay on the island and call; wandering to another island makes it worse.

A booked car is not at LAX-it

Taxis and rideshare pick up at the LAX-it lot beside Terminal 1, reached by a free shuttle from the Arrivals inner curb. A traveler who knows LAX tends to walk to that shuttle by habit. Wrong place for a booked black car service. Put "outer curb island, not LAX-it" in the itinerary. The shuttle stop is on the inner curb; the booked car is on the outer island.

Holding and timing

Permitted operators hold in the Commercial Vehicle Holding Lot and come to the curb when called. Send the flight number, and have the traveler message once bags are in hand. For Tom Bradley arrivals, add customs time; waiting time can change the final amount.

Drive times, Inglewood and the Super Bowl

About 17 miles and 30 to 60 minutes to downtown. The spread is the freeway, not the distance. Inglewood is close: SoFi Stadium and the Intuit Dome. Super Bowl LXI is at SoFi on February 14, 2027. Book that week early and plan every stadium move as its own timed leg.

For group tours, Griffith Observatory does not allow buses to park or wait. The coach drops at the horseshoe driveway, leaves and returns.

Check the airport before booking flights. Burbank is about 17 miles from downtown, Long Beach about 24, John Wayne in Orange County about 39 and Ontario about 41. For Anaheim or Pasadena, one of those may be the shorter transfer.
