Atlanta (ATL) airport car service and group pickups

At Hartsfield-Jackson, all limo service is arranged in advance and only ATL-permitted companies may pick up. Where the car meets you depends on the terminal.

Domestic or International: where the pickup splits

Domestic Terminal arrivals meet the car inside near the atrium, or at the North or South lower-level curb. International Terminal arrivals meet on the Arrivals level or at the outer curb.

The Domestic Terminal has two sides, North and South. Confirm which side the traveler's airline uses and put it in the itinerary; walking the wrong side costs time. International arrivals clear customs first, so add that before the car is due.

Permitted operators, booked in advance

ATL restricts pickups to permitted limo companies and requires advance arrangement. A walk-up is not an option. Book the ATL car service before departure. When you book any airport transfer here, asking whether the operator holds an ATL permit is a reasonable question.

Coach and minibus pickups

The Ground Transportation Center at the west end of the Domestic Terminal serves shared-ride and hotel shuttles, not charters. For a chartered coach, the driver confirms the meeting point with you before the day. Brief the group lead with it, and with the terminal.

For a school, team or church group, set one muster point inside and have the lead confirm the headcount before the coach is called in. Then walk out together.

Ten miles to downtown, and the Aquarium problem

15 to 30 minutes to downtown puts the Georgia World Congress Center and Mercedes-Benz Stadium close. For groups visiting the Georgia Aquarium, buses park at the GWCC Marshalling Yard about half a mile away. That lot needs an advance reservation and may close for events. Check the GWCC calendar before promising the group a short walk.

Truist Park, home of the Braves, is in Cobb County, not downtown. A ballgame group needs its own plan and its own timings.

Where does a car meet an International Terminal arrival?

On the Arrivals level or at the outer curb.

Why does it matter which company picks up at ATL?

Only ATL-permitted limo companies may pick up. A car from any other company is not allowed to pick up there.

Is MARTA an alternative?

MARTA Airport Station is at the west end of the Domestic Terminal. For a light solo traveler, possibly. For a group with bags, book the vehicle.

Can a coach wait near the Aquarium during a visit?

Buses park at the GWCC Marshalling Yard, reserved in advance, which may close for events.
