LGA airport car service: Terminals A, B and C

LaGuardia is nine miles from Midtown, and each terminal hands off car services in a different spot. Know which one before the wheels touch down.

Three terminals, three Car Services pickups

Every LGA car service pickup follows the "Car Services" signs, and the signs lead somewhere different at each building. Terminal A: across the street. Terminal B: the parking garage, Level 2. Terminal C: the Arrivals inner lane.

Ride apps load in the same areas, so the lane is crowded with cars that look alike. Send the traveler the vehicle details from the confirmation before departure. Hotel shuttles use a separate zone; anyone following hotel shuttle signs has gone the wrong way.

Group pickups bigger than a car

The published LGA instructions cover car services, not minibuses or coaches. For a group vehicle, the driver confirms the meeting point with you before the day and you pass it to the group lead. Do not assume a minibus uses the Terminal B garage level a sedan uses.

LaGuardia to Midtown: 25 to 45 minutes

Nine miles. The spread is traffic and the hour, not distance. For a 9:00 meeting, count backward: bags, the walk to the Car Services area, then the drive. An early-morning landing buys margin; a 7:45 landing does not.

A coach bound for Manhattan takes the city's bus rules with it: truck routes except to reach a destination, a three-minute idling cap, no loading on Fifth Avenue between 32nd and 59th Streets.

When the bus is enough, and when it is not

The free Q70 LaGuardia Link bus runs to the Jackson Heights subway. For a lone traveler with a carry-on and time to spare, fine. For an executive with a timed arrival, or twelve people with bags, book the vehicle and remove the variable.

Questions

LaGuardia or JFK for a Midtown meeting?

On distance, LaGuardia: about nine miles against fifteen, and 25 to 45 minutes against 40 to 75. The flight schedule decides the rest.

Where exactly does the car wait at Terminal B?

The Car Services pickup for Terminal B is garage Level 2. The traveler follows the Car Services signs from baggage claim.

Can the LGA pickup handle a group of 20?

Yes, with a minibus or coach. The driver confirms the group meeting point with you in advance, because the Car Services signs are written for cars.

What does the driver need from us?

Flight number, terminal, the passenger name on the booking, a mobile number that works on landing, and a bag count.
