Licensing and the driver

A party bus designed for 16 or more, driver included, needs a driver with a CDL passenger endorsement. Ask for the operator's USDOT number and check its safety record.

The driver may not hold open alcohol, and may not drink within 4 hours before driving. Passenger rules depend on the state.

Local rules

Nashville has banned open alcohol on unenclosed party vehicles countywide since December 1, 2021. Party vehicles there are regulated by the Metro Transportation Licensing Commission. In Nashville, a Broadway night with drinks aboard needs an enclosed vehicle. Other cities have their own rules. Tell us where you are going and we match a vehicle that suits the local rules.

Headcount first, then the route. A Sprinter limo holds up to 14 and stays below the CDL threshold. For more, a larger build or two vehicles. Two smaller vehicles also make split drop-offs at the end of the night easier.
