Typically 49 to 59 seats, or about 80 on a double-decker. On a 45 ft coach, under-floor bays of about 440 to 460 cu ft, plus overhead racks. A restroom, reclining seats, three-point seat belts, USB-A and USB-C at seats, with WiFi as an option. A wheelchair lift option with two tie-downs. Where a coach does not fit
Size has limits. In Manhattan, no bus loads on Fifth Avenue between 32nd and 59th Streets. In New Orleans, the Garden District bans buses over 20 seats. Muir Woods refuses vehicles over 35 ft. Griffith Observatory allows drop-off only; the coach must leave and return. At Hoover Dam, a coach carrying luggage is refused.
Give us the exact address and venue name. A hotel driveway that fits a Sprinter may not fit a coach.
When two smaller vehicles beat one coach
A group of 45 fits one coach. A group of 45 splitting between two destinations does not. Two midsize coaches cost more in drivers but save a wasted run. And for a school trip, look the carrier up in SAFER by USDOT number first. For interstate trips, one coach with a second driver may beat two coaches. The quote can show both.
Cruise transfers are coach work too. Port Canaveral, PortMiami, Port Everglades and Galveston each require their own permits, which sit with the operator.
