Minibus rental for 16 to 19 passengers

The minibus is for short runs with a lot of people and not much luggage. Airport shuttles, wedding guests, the dinner after the conference.

What a minibus is

A cutaway body on a Ford or Chevrolet chassis, typically 16 to 19 seats. Many models have passenger seat belts. Wheelchair-lift floor plans exist. Because it is designed for 16 or more including the driver, the driver needs a CDL with a passenger endorsement.

Luggage is the catch

Luggage space is limited: a rear luggage area on some floor plans, none on others. For an airport shuttle, count the bags. Sixteen people with carry-ons fit. Sixteen with checked cases may not. If bags are heavy, pair the minibus with an SUV, or step up to a midsize coach.

Where a minibus earns its place

It reaches places a coach cannot. In New Orleans, the Garden District bans buses over 20 seats, with limited exceptions. A 16- to 19-seat minibus stays under that limit. At a wedding venue with a narrow lane, or a hotel with a tight driveway, the same logic holds.

For a church outing across town or a local event shuttle, it is often the most sensible size. At a wedding, one minibus doing two loops often beats one coach doing one.

Airport shuttles by minibus

A minibus is a common airport shuttle, and airports treat group vehicles differently. At O'Hare, charters use the lower-level commercial lanes. At Dulles, charter buses load at Doors 4 and 5 after a 24-hour Charter Bus Form. At SFO, pre-arranged charters use the Arrivals-level courtyards. Where an airport does not say, the driver confirms the meeting point before the day.
