Boston Logan is about 3 miles from downtown, 10 to 25 minutes by road. The ride is short; the meet is not. Limousine pickups at Logan run by prior reservation only, and each terminal has its own limo stand. Terminal A uses a lot opposite Arrivals; Terminal E uses Lot 2. A passenger heading to the wrong one loses the time the short ride saved.

For an airport car service, specify the terminal letter per passenger, not just the airline. The Cell Phone Lot bars commercial vehicles, so the driver cannot idle nearby waiting for a call. Flight numbers let the timing follow the landing.

Black car service between Back Bay, the Seaport and Cambridge

Boston splits its meetings. The Hynes Convention Center is in Back Bay; the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center, formerly the BCEC, is on the South Boston Waterfront. Many attendees stay in one district and meet in the other, with Cambridge dinners on top.

For executives moving between all three, book the black car by the hour. For a single airport run, book the transfer. Say which on the request.

Moving a group without Storrow Drive

Storrow Drive prohibits trucks and buses. The coach route to Cambridge or Back Bay will differ from the one on a passenger phone. Build that into the schedule, not the apology.

Most downtown tour bus stops allow a 15-minute layover at most, and tour buses may not park at meters or idle past 5 minutes. So a coach does not wait outside the venue. Longer holds go to the Autoport in Charlestown by prior arrangement, and the vehicle returns at a set time. Give fixed departure times. "When we finish" does not work here.

Game nights at TD Garden and Gillette, and day trips out

TD Garden sits above North Station. Gillette Stadium is in Foxborough. Plan the return pickup point before the game, not after. For day trips, Salem and Lexington and Concord run 30 to 60 minutes; Plymouth, Newport and Cape Cod run 1 to 2.25 hours.

Where does a pre-booked car meet me at Logan?

At the limousine stand for your terminal. Each terminal uses a different location, so send the terminal letter with the flight number.

Can a motorcoach wait outside our downtown Boston venue?

Rarely for long. Most downtown stops cap layovers at 15 minutes. For longer events the operator arranges space at the Charlestown Autoport and comes back at a fixed time.

Why does the coach take a longer route to Cambridge?

Buses cannot use Storrow Drive. The driver follows a legal route, which can add minutes at peak hours.

Is a Sprinter van enough for a group of twelve going to Gillette?

Yes. A Sprinter carries 17 to 19 passengers. Bring luggage counts if the group is heading on to Logan afterwards.
