Book vehicles against the dates you know. Confirm the parade-day plan once the schedule is final, and read the cancellation terms on the quote. If the group is coming for one parade, hold rooms and vehicle, and be ready to shift the viewing day.

Parade routes cut the city. Plan around them.
Parades run on routes across Uptown and St. Charles, the French Quarter and Mid-City. Do not plan a drop that needs to cross an active route. Set drop points on the same side as your viewing spot, and a pickup well clear of the route after.
Specify the viewing location and the hotel. The operator needs both to plan a legal route.
City bus rules still apply during Carnival
French Quarter rules hold during Carnival: buses under 31 feet use signed bus routes; buses 31 feet or longer need an oversize load permit in advance; loading is limited to 15 minutes. The Garden District bans buses over 20 seats, with limited exceptions. Designated motorcoach lots include Convention Center Lot J.
For small groups, Sprinter vans move easier. For large groups, a coach to a designated lot and a walk to the route is often faster than trying to get close.
